With its purchase of PlaceWare in early 2003, Microsoft in a stroke changed the real-time collaboration market landscape. For the past year, the company has been integrating the product’s real-time capabilities into its overall collaboration strategy, making the product itself more Microsoft-like, and maintaining the product’s place as one of the market and functionality leaders in the space.
