Our Privacy Policy

This statement discloses the privacy practices for the Customers.com Website, which is owned by the Patricia Seybold Group, Inc. Questions regarding this statement should be directed, via email, to feedback "at" customers.com.

We respect the privacy of our customers and therefore have adopted a set of information management guidelines that are the foundation of our customer relationships. These guidelines are subject to change, as may be needed to reflect the evolution of Internet technologies and business models.  Any such changes will immediately be posted on this page.

Cookies

We employ cookies on some pages of this website:

  • To recognize user access privileges.
  • To track a session through our online ordering process.

We use this information for the following purposes:

  • To provide you access to the Web site information and services available to your Customers.com membership group.
  • To process purchases that you make on the site
  • To send email or conventional mail to you about our products and services.
  • To perform statistical analyses measuring relative interest in the various areas of our site.

With most browsers, you may choose to remove or block cookies.  Doing this will make it necessary for you to log in to the Website every time you take an action that requires it, such as downloading an article or posting a comment.

Personal Information

YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. We do ask anyone who wants to download articles to provide us with a valid email address. We will maintain the email address you provide to us securely. We will occasionally send you email, highlighting a report and adding perspective on current trends. You have the option to opt out from the emails you receive from us. You may also change your communication preferences at any time. We do not share your email with anyone.

YOUR MEMBER PROFILE. We do ask anyone who wishes to participate in our discussion forums to identify themselves to us and to other users and to provide a valid email address. You control and see what is in your user profile. You can choose what information to share with other Customers.com members, e.g. your Twitter handle, Your LinkedIn Profile, Your Facebook Profile, your blog(s), your website(s),  and what information only WE can see (e.g. your email address.)

WE DO NOTE WHICH ARTICLES YOU DOWNLOAD. The only behavioral information we monitor is which articles you download. We do this in order to be able to provide you with a library of your previously downloaded articles, in order to save you time and to let you manage your library. (This is a feature that will be implemented in a future release). We also want to know which of our articles are most popular to which groups of readers.

ORDER FORM. When you complete an online form on the Customers.com Web site in order to subscribe to our paid content, or to become a member able to download free articles), we may collect your:

  • Email address
  • User name and password for the Website
  • Name, address, telephone number and credit card information (for paid subscriptions only)
  • IP address and browser type (for systems administration and troubleshooting)
  • Job title or demographic information (for profiling users in aggregate form

Credit Card Processing

When you make a credit-card purchase on the Customers.com Web site:

  • We collect your credit card information in a secure session (https:).
  • When you “submit” the purchase, we transmit only the required data to our credit-card processing service, using a secure gateway (encrypted, https:). 
  • We do NOT retain/store your credit card information.

Managing Your Information

We do:

  • Provide your email address to the third party that distributes our electronic newsletters.
  • Follow the preferences you have selected when posting your comments on the Website. Please see our Community Guidelines {link: /policies/community } for more information about how we manage site users’ comments. 
  • Require compliance with this Privacy Policy from our employees, contractors, or business affiliates who may have access to customers’ personal information.

We do not, under any circumstances:

  • Store personally identifiable credit card information on our servers.
  • Link your IP address to anything personally identifiable.
  • Release personal information about any individual Website visitor.
  • Share the personal information obtained on this site, in any form, with advertisers or any other parties that are not noted above, unless required by legal authorities.
